Re-Entry Financial Assistance Advisor - Remote

Responsibilities
  • Work cohesively with the Student Support and Reentry advising teams to facilitate outstanding service to returning students.
  • Detail-oriented and responsible for daily packaging updates.
  • Hold professional conversations with students and parents and create solutions for the families.
  • Efficiently and accurately package assigned reentering students.
  • Discuss payment plan options, balances, and holds in a timely fashion.
  • Create financial plans for reentering students.
  • Ensure student files are complete and accurate and that their payments have posted on the students' accounts.
  • Utilize reports to review students’ progress, analyze urgent matters, and work with your director for priorities.
  • Evaluate unusual/mitigating circumstance documentation or information provided by the student; exercise judgment by making adjustments or revisions to costs, contribution, and need or dependency status as exceptions to the prescribed process.
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • 3-5 years of related Financial Aid experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving approach to work.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, work independently, and make decisions based on guidelines.
  • Strong basic computer software (MS Office) skills as well as exposure to more concentrated financial aid software (Campus Vue/Campus Nexus preferred).
Working Remote/Home Requirements
  • Dedicated space/office must be free from distractions and background noise (personal calls, visitors, pets, TV, children, etc.)
  • Must adhere to set schedule.
  • Continuous/active communication with managers and co-workers.
  • Must have the following resources at home:
    • Dedicated office space that can accommodate dual monitors, computer, and VPN device.
    • A hard-wired (from the computer to the internet router/modem) high-speed internet with:
      • A minimum of 6 Mbps download speed and 1.5 Mbps upload speed.
      • Latency/Ping must be @ 40-45ms or lower.
      • Depending on the availability; Cable, DSL, Fiber are only supported ISP provider services (candidates must provide Internet Service Provider Name and the test results before hire).
