Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and charting in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping
• Provide information and answer questions from patients and staff
• Maintain instrumentation by sterilizing and sharpening
• Evaluate patients' oral health to select appropriate materials and equipment
• Complete prophylaxis by cleaning teeth and beneath gum margins
• Detect disease via screenings, examinations, and radiographs
• Apply fluorides and other agents to prevent decay

Dental Hygienist Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in Ohio
