Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and charting, in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming and seating them
• Provide information and answer patient questions
• Maintain and sterilize instruments
• Evaluate patient oral health to select appropriate materials and equipment
• Perform dental prophylaxis and remove deposits and stains
• Detect disease through screenings, examinations, and radiographs
• Apply fluorides and cavity-preventing agents to arrest decay

Job Requirements

• Active dental hygiene license in IN
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills for patient education
