Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and charting
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming and positioning them
• Provide information and answer patient questions
• Maintain instruments and sterilize equipment
• Select appropriate materials and evaluate oral health
• Perform cleaning and stain removal from teeth and beneath gums
• Detect disease through screenings and radiographs
• Apply fluorides and cavity-preventing agents to arrest decay
