Citrus Heights Dental is seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Dental Assistant Extended Functions 2 (RDAEF2) to join our dental practice in Citrus Heights, CA. This full-time role offers $35-$40/hr, depending on experience, and opportunities to perform advanced procedures under dentist supervision.

The RDAEF2 will provide clinical support, radiography, patient care, and infection control, while maintaining accurate records and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures and prepare instruments, materials, and medications as needed
• Extended Functions: Perform advanced dental procedures under supervision, such as restorations, taking impressions, cement posts, sealants, and local anesthesia as directed
• Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients, obtain and record dental history and vital signs, and maintain records
• Infection Control: Follow strict infection control protocols and sterilize equipment
• Radiography: Take and process dental radiographs with proper safety measures
• Educational Support: Instruct patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Administrative Tasks: Manage patient records and assist with scheduling

Job description

Citrus Heights Dental is seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Dental Assistant Extended Functions 2 (RDAEF2)to join their dental practice. As an RDAEF2, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your expertise and professionalism will contribute to the success of our practice and the overall oral health of our patients.

Schedule: Full-time; 5 days/week (starting in December)

Pay: $35-$40/hr, depending on experience

What you’ll be accountable for:

• Clinical Support: Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to, restorative, surgical, exams, and cleanings. Prepare and arrange dental instruments, materials, and medications as needed.
• Extended Functions:Perform advanced dental procedures under the supervision of the dentist, such as placing and finishing restorations, taking impressions, cement posts, apply sealants, and administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist.
• Patient Care:Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and answering any questions they may have. Obtain and record patient's dental history and vital signs, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Infection Control:Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, as well as maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
• Radiography: Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as per dentist's instructions. Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety measures are followed.
• Educational Support:Instruct patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and preventive measures. Educate patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health.
• Administrative Tasks: Manage patient records, update treatment plans, and assist front office with scheduling patient appointments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration
• Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by applicable state
• Highly organized and attentive to patients’ needs
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Must be able to explain procedures and educate patients.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
