Job summary

PDS Health in Sanford is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant Extended Function (RDA-EF) to support the dentist and help patients commit to the best possible treatment with urgency.

The role involves chair-side assistance, taking intra-oral images, educating patients, preparing trays, and ensuring a clean, sterile operatory while complying with ADA, OSHA, HIPAA and other regulations. This position emphasizes patient experience and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have GED or high school diploma.
• Associate degree or a one-year certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per state-permitted dental tasks.
• Help create an urgent, positive patient experience.
• Attend to patient concerns and expectations.
• Maintain a clean, sterile operatory and assist dentists.
• Obtain patient history and educate on post-treatment care.
• Prepare tray setups and sterilize instruments per guidelines.
• Escort patients to front desk and coordinate with staff.
• Maintain supplies and comply with safety/regulatory policies.
