Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Professional Coding Expert to provide accurate clinical data for billing and reimbursement, with emphasis on physician and outpatient facility coding. Cardiology experience is highly preferred, and credentialing through AAPC or AHIMA is required for this role.

The candidate should reside in Indiana for in-person meetings or trainings and must have strong analytical, detail-oriented skills and the ability to work with confidential information.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC credential required. Read, understand and interpret medical records.

8a-5p M-F - Candidate must reside in Indiana for in-person meetings or trainings

This position exists to provide accurate and timely clinical data for billing and optimal reimbursement, quality assessment, comparative databases, physician profiling, and administrative purposes. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, physician coding, outpatient facility coding, or rectifying pre-bill coding related edits and coding related denials. Professional Coding Expert certified by AAPC or AHIMA with Cardiology experience strongly preferred.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent. RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC credential required. Acceptable credentials or experience may vary depending on type of role (physician coding, facility coding, pre-bill coding edits). Requires ability to read, understand and interpret medical records and other treatment documentation.
