Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston, NC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to render professional cardiopulmonary care for assigned patients and provide quality diagnostic and therapeutic services.

The role requires NC licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with CRT certification and NBRC credentials; AMA-accredited program completion is expected. Night shift, full-time, onsite. One year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an AMA Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program possessing CRT certification and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care.
• One year of experience in a Respiratory Care hospital setting preferred.
• Must be licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and NBRC credentialed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate of completion from an American Medical Association Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program possessing CRT certification and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care. All RRT therapists required to be RRT credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care maintain the requirements necessary to retain the designation.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

• One year experience in a Respiratory Care hospital type setting preferred.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

• Must be licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. All RRT RCP therapists by RRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care. They are required to maintain that status.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Good interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated understanding of patient care needs according to the developmental stages for various age groups. BCLS training required. ACLS and NRP strongly encouraged. Strong Customer Focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to blood borne pathogens, infectious and contagious diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment. Contact with cleaning agents, chemicals, and some toxic chemicals may also require use of PPE. Subject to stressful work periods and long irregular hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

• Walking and standing throughout shift; lifting patients daily with assistance. Pushes and/or pulls or carries equipment throughout shift.
