Job summary

AE Works is seeking a self-motivated RCDD Consultant to lead planning and design of large-scale ICT infrastructure projects in Pittsburgh or Arlington. You will design LAN/WAN, nurse call, datacenters, and overhead paging while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet client needs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of low voltage design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit BIM, Bluebeam, and MS Office, and holds RCDD certification. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and specifying low voltage systems in an A&E environment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit BIM, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of security design standards (BICSI, NFPA, TIA, etc.).
• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, or government facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ICT infrastructure audits and site assessments.
• Prepare site‑specific SD, DD, and CD design deliverables including plans, elevations, diagrams, schedules, and BOD narratives.
• Lead technical discussions and coordinate design requirements with project managers, architects, engineers, clients, and contractors.
• Support Construction Administration services: RFI responses and submittals review, site observations.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to design guides and templates.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, regulations, and industry trends.
