Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Communications Systems Designer to lead the technical design of telecom, security, and audio-visual systems for building projects. This role involves creating drawings, specifications and reports, and coordinating with project teams in a hybrid remote/office setup based in the U.S.

The candidate must have US citizenship, a BICSI RCDD credential, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. A PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• BICSI RCDD is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of active communications systems for buildings is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
• Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards required.
• Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28 is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills are required.
• HS Diploma, or equivalent is required.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers is required.
• Proficiency in communicating technical information to engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design of systems for building projects including telecommunications, electronic security, audio-visual systems, and related technologies.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and review technical documents.
• Complete project assignments with minimal supervision and direct support staff to complete a project.
