Come Grow with Us!
Supporting Autism is actively seeking two caring and energetic individuals in the Linville, NC area for Registered Behavior Technician roles in a preschool-classroom setting. These individuals will support two learners in the same facility, supporting the children through their daily routines and swapping placements midday.
This is an active and hands-on role which blends traditional ABA interventions with natural environment teaching opportunities. The "right" candidates will enjoy working 1:1 with young learners, have patience to support skill building and socialization, be energetic, and model language for a learner still growing their own functional communication skills. Staff must be able to keep up with young learners, actively engage with children on their level (including rising up and down from floor level, when relevant), react quickly and proactively while remaining within an arm's reach of their learners to keep them safe at all times. Previous experience in ABA Therapy or Early Childhood Education is strongly preferred.
We are committed to our company's mission statement "Helping each individual reach their fullest potential" and are proud of our excellent reputation of providing highly individualized services and neurodivergent-affirming practices since 2013.
RBT's play a critical role in the lives of the children we serve! At Supporting Autism, we take a whole-child approach to learning and skill-building. We utilize positive reinforcement techniques while incorporating a blend of natural environment teaching practices with more traditional discrete trial instruction methods. Additionally, RBT's play an important role in collecting data based on their time with the children.
Paid training is provided for candidates new to the field, and current RBT’s are always encouraged to apply. Our privately owned company takes pride in supporting learners and therapists throughout their ABA journey. Come join our team!
An ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children (with priority given to individuals with experience working in ABA, with learners having Autistic Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities or behavior challenges).
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
  • Operate as a member of team.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Possess a sense of humor and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrate skill in multi-tasking.
  • Show flexibility in thinking and an open mind for continued learning.
  • Be willing to commit to this role for at least six months.
  • Complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certification (training provided).
  • Complete RBT training (40 hours of on-line modules, paid training) and gain RBT certification within their first 90 days of employment.

This role is a great learning experience for students and professionals going into education, psychology or counseling roles. Scheduling and number of hours available are specific to each client. Pay rate is based upon experience.
