Qualifications

About the Job:

Pike County Memorial Hospital is looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and critical thinking individual to join our team as a Paramedic. In this role, you will be responsible for Emergency Medical Care in Pike County, Missouri including but not limited to 911 EMS response, interfacility transfers, medical standby, and PR events. You will also be responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care, transport, and handover.

About PCMH and PCMH EMS:

PCMH is a locally owned and operated critical access facility located in Louisiana, MO since 1928. PCMH is fully equipped as a community hospital with an ED, Med/Surg, Radiology, Laboratory, and inpatient/outpatient specialty services. PCMH is also a Level 3 stroke center.

PCMH EMS is staffed 24/7 with two ALS ambulances and an EMS supervisor. PCMH responds to approximately 3000 calls a year which includes 911 emergency response, interfacilty transfers, and standbys. PCMH EMS is equipped with state of the art Osage Ambulances, ESO documentation software, Stryker power cots and power loaders, Zoll monitors, and Stryker Lucas devices. PCMH EMS employees are also a proud members of IAFF Local 2665 district 6.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to Emergency and Non-emergency calls of service
  • Provide quality patient care by assessing, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each individual patient based on standing protocols
  • Completes thorough and complete patient care documents
  • Operates Emergency Vehicles in a safe manner
  • Perform duties assigned by the EMS supervisor
  • Be a resource to other staff members

Physical Demands:

The qualified individual must be able to meet the physical demands of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving of people and objects in excess of 50 lbs. This role routinely comes in contact with patients who may have a contagious illness. This role also is functional 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in all weather conditions and holidays.
