Position Summary
The Raw Materials Technician is responsible for assisting Raw Materials Specialist in providing materials in timely manner for production of products to meet schedule set forth by production assistant. Additional responsibilities include ensuring raw materials are re-tested/rejected as necessary.
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Maintain Raw Materials Lab inventory, logbooks, and other documentation
- Verification of all processes that take place in the raw materials lab.
- Must comply with the current Good Practices (cGMP’s) for drug products as defined in the Code of Federal Regulation, Title 21 Parts 210 and 211, SOPs and company policies in all work
- Reinforce department and company policies to promote and support positive work environment
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain Raw Materials lab in clean and orderly manner
- Maintain Raw Materials equipment and utensil preventive maintenance
- Substitute for positions on production line as needed
- Ensure Inventory of Raw Materials is accurate and maintained in Inventory systems.
- Assist with rejected raw materials/drug products for disposal
- Monitor inventory of raw materials
- Perform other duties assigned by management
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a science lab (biology and/or chemistry)
- High School diploma or GED
- Good, verbal, and written communication skills
- Able to work with basic lab equipment such as analytical balance, glassware, calculator, thermometer
- Able to apply and utilize metric system
- Good computer skills to enter, store and retrieve data
- Willing and able to immediately adapt to changes in policies and procedures
Valued but not required skills and experience
- Able to work using the metric system
- Able to perform basic algebra calculations on a calculator
- Experience in clean room and laboratory
- Proactive approach to problem resolution and problem-solving ability
