Job summary

Plastipak seeks a Raw Material Planner to ensure production materials are ordered, receipts scheduled, and inventories kept in check. You will collaborate with scheduling, vendors, and other departments to keep materials available when needed.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree, APICS cert, or 3+ years in planning, with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel. The role is on-site in a climate-controlled facility with growth opportunities.

Job description

As a Raw Material Planner, you help ensure our production team has the materials needed to keep operations running efficiently. You'll be responsible for ordering raw materials, scheduling receipts, maintaining inventory levels, communication with related functional groups, and tracking vendor performance.

$20.00-$24.00 per hour

You Will

• Plan and order raw materials to support production schedules
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain targeted inventory turns
• Create purchase orders and coordinate deliveries with vendors
• Work closely with Production Scheduling, vendors, and other departments to ensure materials are available when needed
• Monitor vendor performance and maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records
• Review slow-moving and obsolete inventory and assist with disposition planning

You Have

• Associate degree, APICS certification, or at least three years of related planning, purchasing, inventory, or supply chain experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
