Dr. Squatch in Brea, CA is hiring a Raw Material & Packaging Planner to manage forecasting, inventory levels, and supply continuity of raw materials and packaging components to keep production running smoothly. The role reports to the Operations Planning Sr. Manager and is on-site full-time with benefits.

The anticipated base compensation for this role will be $80,000 - $95,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and local market rates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in materials planning, procurement, or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business priorities and adjust in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain raw material forecasts based on production schedules, consumption, and historical usage trends.
  • Determine and continuously adjust reorder points and order quantities for raw materials based on forecasted production needs and supplier-specific lead times.
  • Manage inventory on hand, including maintaining safety stock levels for raw materials + packaging held both at the manufacturing site and off-site warehouse location(s).
  • Coordinate logistics and inventory transfers between the manufacturing facility and off-site warehouse(s).
  • Collaborate with production planning, procurement, and quality assurance teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.
  • Track supplier lead times, performance, and reliability; elevate risks to supply continuity.
  • Analyze material consumption data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar) for material planning and inventory transactions.
  • Manage material expiration dates and rotation (FIFO/FEFO) to minimize waste.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams on receiving, storage, and cycle counts.
  • Assist in resolving material shortages, quality holds, or supplier disruptions.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, material spend, and planning KPIs.
  • Support the Production Planner as needed, providing raw material availability insights to inform production scheduling decisions + feasibility.

About the Role:

Our soap manufacturing facility in Brea is seeking a Raw Material & Packaging Planner to manage the forecasting, inventory levels, and supply continuity of raw materials, including oils, fragrances, colorants, and packaging components, that keep our production lines running smoothly. This role is critical to ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time - balancing warehouse space and shifting priorities with the efficiency demands of production.

This role will report to the Operations Planning Sr. Manager.

This is a full-time, on-site role with company benefits based out of our manufacturing facility in Brea, CA.

The anticipated base compensation for this role will be $80,000 - $95,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and maintain raw material forecasts based on production schedules, consumption, and historical usage trends
  • Determine and continuously adjust reorder points and order quantities for raw materials based on forecasted production needs and supplier-specific lead times

  • Coordinate logistics and inventory transfers between the manufacturing facility and off-site warehouse(s), ensuring materials are repositioned ahead of production needs and transportation is scheduled efficiently
  • Collaborate with production planning, procurement, and quality assurance teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules
  • Track supplier lead times, performance, and reliability; elevate risks to supply continuity
  • Analyze material consumption data to identify trends, cost‑saving opportunities, and process improvements
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar) for material planning and inventory transactions

About You:

  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills, with ability to: collaborate effectively with peers across multiple areas of the business, communicate effectively and efficiently with external partners (suppliers etc.), and ability to efficiently communicate upwards with senior business leaders
  • Detailed, organized, structured and efficient problem solver, able to quickly identify the most important things to focus on in an environment where things are rapidly changing every day
  • Able to develop and maintain strong cooperative working relationships within the group and across the organization
  • Demonstrated excellence using Excel or GSheets to monitor performance
  • Experience using an ERP and WMS system; Netsuite experience a plus
  • Experience in CPG, chemical, cosmetics, or personal care manufacturing preferred
  • Someone who has high standards, takes ownership, and is invested in the outcome
