Job summary

A financial services institution seeks a Summer Intern for their Moody's Ratings and Research Support program. This is a full-time position offering a comprehensive view of the business, allowing interns to develop professional skills through project work and networking opportunities. Interns will gain real-world experience and may receive an offer to join as a Ratings Associate after graduation. Anticipated hourly wage is $35.

Qualifications

• Students matriculating towards Bachelor’s Degree or Master's.
• Graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027.
• Ability to work between June 1st - August 7th 2026.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Analytical teams as needed.
• Participate in case studies designed to further analytical understanding.
• Work on various analytical, research, and data process related projects.
• Collect data and identify trends to support well-thought-out credit conclusions.
• Prepare financial documents, charts, and presentations.

Skills and Competencies

• Good accounting or statistics background (e.g., through coursework, projects…)
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal, and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle workflow, to adapt to a changing environment, and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail

Education

• Students matriculating through college, studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification, or a Master’s Degree, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Political Economy, International Relations, Statistics, or another quantitative field
• Graduation date of December 2026 – June 2027
• Ability to work during program dates: June 1st - August 7th 2026

Responsibilities

• Supporting Analytical teams as needed.
• Examples of analytical work may include:
  • Participate in case studies designed to further analytical understanding
  • Work on various analytical, research, data, process related projects
  • Collect data and identify trends to support well-thought-out credit conclusions
  • Prepare financial documents, charts, and presentations
  • Responsible for monitoring media outlets for news regarding special projects or portfolios
  • Provide analytical and research support to the rating teams
  • Contribute to the creation of high-quality research publications

About the Program

The Moody’s Ratings and Research Support (RRS) internship program is a 10-week program that provides an outstanding opportunity to develop skills that are valuable to any future career in the financial services industry. This will be an internally facing role, reporting to a Team Manager. The Summer Associate will be assigned to one of the following rating groups:

• Corporate Finance Group (CFG)
• Financial Institutions Group (FIG)
• Public Finance Group (PFG)
• Project and Infrastructure (PIF)
• Structured Finance Group (SFG)

Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moodys business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moody's intern, you will gain real‑world experience, turn inputs into actions, and be integral part of the team.

The successful Summer Intern can aspire to receive an offer to join Moody's as an Ratings Associate after they graduate.
