Job summary

Liberty Tire Recycling in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Rasper Operator to support production and maintenance of grinding and recycling processes. This role focuses on keeping feedstock moving efficiently while maintaining safety standards and a clean, organized work area.

The ideal candidate will have strong forklift skills, experience with heavy equipment, and a proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving in a fast-paced industrial setting. Training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Must have solid forklift skills and experience operating heavy equipment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in a production environment.
• Ability to diagnose basic mechanical issues and troubleshoot effectively.
• Strong communication across teams and safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and operational difficulties
• Assist with scheduled maintenance activities and proactive maintenance
• Load feed hoppers and move finished products using forklifts
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area
• Operate forklifts and related equipment safely
• Perform daily housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment
• Report mechanical issues to maintenance and supervisors
• Follow LOTO and PPE procedures and ensure equipment runs above 80%
• Support other duties as assigned

Job Summary:

The Rasper Operator is responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of production equipment to efficiently produce raw feedstock for granulation and clean steel. This role is key to optimizing equipment performance through proactive maintenance and operational support. The Rasper will communicate and coordinate scheduled maintenance and repairs to ensure minimal production downtime and maximum safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and operational difficulties
• Assist with scheduled maintenance activities and support proactive maintenance efforts
• Load feed hoppers and move finished or staged products using forklifts
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area
• Keep equipment clean and orderly, following all prescribed safety regulations
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe work environment
• Communicate effectively and confidently across all levels of the organization
• Make sure you are filling out company documents as needed
• Firewatch (Daily)
• Maintenance Call in Sheet (As Needed)
• Shift hand off (Daily)
• Make sure you and the crew are following all policies and procedures including (LOTO and (PPE)
• Make sure both TGs are running over 80%
• Minimize downtime on the Raptor
• Notify any mechanical issues to maintenance and relief
• Make sure Steel trailers are filled properly and moved safely
• Never leave machine unsupervised
• No tires are under conveyor belt or in front of conveyor
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

• Must have strong forklift skills
• Heavy Equipment experience
• Yard Holster Experience (Entry-mid level. We can train)
• Strong mechanical aptitude in a production environment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
• Capable of effective and confident communication across teams.
• Ability to operate forklifts and related equipment safely.
• Physical ability to walk, sit, lift, push, pull, turn, and climb as necessary for job tasks.
• Ability to maintain focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
