Position Summary:

We are looking for a passionate, community-connected Rare Kidney Disease (RKD) Educator to educate and empower underserved communities impacted by Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and IgA Nephropathy (IgAN). The role involves leading patient education, raising disease awareness, connecting patients to resources, and building partnerships with advocacy groups and local stakeholders. This position reports to the Director, Rare Kidney Disease Education, and collaborates with Patient Advocacy, Commercial, Access, and Medical Affairs teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Patient & HCP Education: Deliver education on FSGS and IgAN, facilitate connections to support groups, and conduct or coordinate educational sessions for healthcare providers and community groups.
  • Community Connection & Advocacy: Increase disease awareness, identify undiagnosed cases, collaborate with community nephrologists and primary care providers, and partner with advocacy groups.
  • Strategic Field Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align on patient needs, identify opportunities to raise awareness, and provide feedback to inform strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • RN, NP/PA, PharmD, or similar healthcare credential; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 7+ years in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in health education or community outreach.
  • Deep ties or lived experience with underserved communities.
  • Excellent communication and cultural humility understanding.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in nephrology or rare diseases preferred.
  • Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Existing relationships with dialysis centers or nephrology practices.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% domestically.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
