Job summary

USA Rare Earth is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support the chemical process for developing permanent rare earth magnets. You will work in a team, focusing on precision, organization, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a chemistry or science background, 1–3 years of lab experience, and familiarity with analytical instrumentation and materials characterization. Safety, quality, and collaboration with the magnet technology group are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in chemistry, science, or electronics related area.
• 1–3 years of laboratory work experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory instruments used for materials chemical characterization.
• Knowledge of rare earth element chemical test methods is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory safety procedures.
• Assist with and perform routine chemical and metallurgical analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory process equipment.
• Proficiency with analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Review analytical results, research discrepancies, report anomalies to lab manager and magnet technology team.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis across various samples from all areas of operation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Assist in tracking and maintaining chemical reagent inventory.
• Clean and maintain workstation and ensure equipment is safe to use.
• Participate in safety management programs and adhere to procedures.
• Comply with health, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Complete other tasks as needed.
