Job summary

USA Rare Earth is seeking a Laboratory Technician to advance the chemistry and materials analysis for rare earth magnet production. The role supports the lab team in routine chemical and metallurgical analyses and reported results to the magnet technology group.

The ideal candidate will hold an associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry or related fields, and bring experience with lab instrumentation, data logging, and problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor degree in chemistry, science, or electronics related area.
  • Aptitude for technical problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Computer skills for logging and organizing large data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Follows laboratory safety procedures.
  • Assists with and performs routine chemical and metallurgical analysis and reporting.
  • Maintains laboratory process equipment.
  • Proficiency with analytical techniques and instrumentation.
  • Reviews analytical results and reports discrepancies to the lab manager.
  • Performs routine and non-routine analysis on chemical, magnetic, and environmental samples.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation.
  • Tracks and maintains chemical reagent inventory.
  • Cleans and maintains workstations and ensures safe operation of equipment.
  • Participates in safety management programs and adheres to lab procedures.
  • Complies with health, environmental, and safety regulations.
