Job summary

Velocity Restorations LLC in Cantonment, FL seeks a Raptor Technician to join the body shop and powder coating team. You will apply a protective liner to vehicle components, prep surfaces, and ensure high-quality finishes with attention to detail.

Overview

Raptor Liner is a professional‑grade spray‑on protective coating applied to truck beds and vehicle components. The Raptor Technician is a critical role that bridges the body shop and powder coating departments to ensure the precise application of Raptor Liner. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to producing high‑quality finishes on vehicle components.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Tape off painted areas of vehicles to protect them during the Raptor Liner application process.
• Sand vehicle tubs to prepare surfaces for coating.
• Thoroughly clean surfaces using wax and grease remover to ensure proper adhesion.
• Apply seam sealer to any necessary seams.
• Mix and spray Raptor Liner with precision and accuracy.
• Proactively seek additional tasks to stay productive when assigned work is completed.
• Arrive on time with a professional appearance, ready to work at start of shift.
• Adhere to the company dress code and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Complete daily SOS/sign off sheet.

Required Skills and Abilities

• General automotive knowledge and familiarity with vehicle components.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Competence in using air hoses, power tools, and related equipment.
• Strong time management skills to meet production deadlines.
• Dependability and a commitment to producing high‑quality products.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work overtime evenings and weekends as needed.

Education Background and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous liner spray or paint and body experience preferred

Physical Demands (To include but not limited to)

• Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace.
• Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
• Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
• Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
• Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
• Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting.
• Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
• Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration.
• Working in non‑climate‑controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.
• Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required.
• Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections.
• Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues.
• Frequent reaching above the shoulders or below the waist.
• Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue.
• Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle.
