Prisma International, Inc. seeks experienced translators for FEMA-related recovery communications in Pacific Island languages. Join our independent contractor team to provide timely, accurate translations for disaster-related material and government projects.

Minimum requirements include residence in the United States, 18+ years old, and three years of professional translation experience with government agencies. Proficiency in English and the target language(s) is essential.

Qualifications

• reside in the United States or a U.S. territory.
• Be 18+ years of age.
• Have three (3) years of professional translation experience with government agencies.
• Certified by a translation organization or a Bachelor’s degree in translation or related field; five+ years may be accepted in lieu.
• Agree to Prisma’s Master Service Agreement (MSA).
• High proficiency in English and fluent in the target language(s).
• Reliable desktop PC or laptop with secure, high-speed internet.
• Experience with CAT tools (XTM, Trados) and Adobe Acrobat markup.

Responsibilities

• Provide quick-turn written translations using a CAT tool with XTM access.
• Adhere to project work instructions, glossaries and references.
• Ensure content style and register are appropriate for the target language.
• Perform quality checks before delivery to ensure accuracy.
• Deliver translations by deadlines; FEMA projects require accelerated delivery.
• Review targeted PDFs for accuracy using Adobe markup tools.
• Communicate timely with Prisma team members.
• Participate in quality management processes (CARs, RCAs).
• Protect sensitive information (PHI, PII, SBU).
• Adhere to Prisma’s MSA and Vendor Guide.
