Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group seeks a Rapid Response Registered Nurse (RN) to provide immediate, specialized care in urgent or critical situations. Working under general supervision, the role facilitates prompt interventions and ensures accurate patient documentation.

Required: 2 years' RN experience and 1 year in a clinical specialty, NC or Compact-state RN license, and CPR/BLS with ACLS or NIH certification. Bachelor’s degree preferred, with opportunities to coach and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of RN experience and 1 year in a clinical specialty per ANCC or national nursing organizations.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a Compact state.
• BLS (CPR) certification and ACLS or NIH certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies and provides immediate care to patients.
• Analyzes patient conditions and provides rapid response interventions.
• Prepares documentation related to patient care to ensure accurate records.
• Reviews policies and procedures to ensure care is delivered in compliance with laws and policies.
• Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals involved in rapid response.

Essential Job Function:

• Responds to medical emergencies and provides immediate care to patients to ensure that patients receive timely and appropriate care in emergency situations.
• Analyzes patient conditions and provides rapid response interventions to ensure that patients receive the best possible care based on their individual needs and medical conditions.
• Prepares documentation related to patient care to ensure that patient care is well-documented and that accurate records are maintained.
• Reviews policies and procedures related to patient care and safety to ensure that patient care is delivered in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Seeks advice from senior management regarding challenging rapid response situations that require deeper understanding.
• Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals involved in rapid response to ensure high-quality care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Experience:

• Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

• Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS or NIH certification.
