Job description

PRN Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Serving the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County since 1949, Marymount Hospital is a 269-bed acute care, faith-based hospital and a member of the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare System since 1995. The ICU at Marymount Hospital features 28 beds in two connected 14-bed pods, designed for high-acuity patients requiring critical care for serious medical conditions. Common procedures include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia.

This position requires Day/Night rotation, from 7:00 AM-7:30 PM or 7:00 PM-7:30 AM.

Ideal candidates will:

1. Provide direct nursing care.
2. Implement and monitor patient care plans.
3. Monitor, record, and communicate patients' conditions.
4. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
5. Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.

Minimum qualifications include:

1. Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
2. Current RN licensure in the state.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
4. At least two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants.
5. Internal applicants with less than two years' experience may be considered after post-orientation and 90-day probation, pending approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.
6. Military RN experience will be considered.

Preferred qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
• Physical exertion includes lifting 20-50 pounds occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently.
