Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Torrance, CA is seeking Fire Dispatchers to coordinate responses to fires, rescues, and hazards from a central communications center. You will receive incident information, verify locations, alert stations, monitor radios, and record updates while following established procedures.

This role may involve overnight shifts, weekends, and overtime. Candidates should have a high school diploma, comfortable with computer systems and data entry, and may need fire dispatch

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fire dispatch certification or EMS dispatch training may be required for some postings.
• Experience with computer systems, maps and radio communication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document reports of fires, rescues, alarms and hazards.
• Verify incident locations and reported risks.
• Alert stations and dispatch apparatus using approved assignments.
• Monitor radio channels and incident status.
• Record dispatch times and unit movements.
