The Airframe/Engine Technician – RRT travels to the customer’s location to perform on-wing inspection, troubleshooting, and repairs to engines and APUs on various corporate jets across the United States and internationally. This position interacts with customers and collaborates with Duncan team members to provide exceptional customer service and rapid response 24/7.
Duncan Aviation's Rapid Response Team positions support our AOG/RRT Network and typically work out of one of our Fixed Base Locations or remotely based on needs. These are not Entry Level positions; work is performed independently with minimal oversight. Brand new A&P's are encouraged to apply for an Airframe or Powerplant position at one of our MRO locations to gain experience working on Corporate Aircraft before applying for the Rapid Response Team.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have an A&P certificate.
- Experience working on engines such as Honeywell TFE731, CFE738, HTF7000 Series; Pratt & Whitney 300, 500, 600 & JT15 Series; Williams FJ44 Series; GE CF34 Series; Rolls Royce BR700 Series.
Essential Job Functions:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, function test, remove, reinstall, and return to service aircraft engines and APUs using proper tooling and test equipment, adhering to manufacturer’s specifications, FAA regulations, and Duncan Aviation procedures. Perform as an RII Inspector.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of engine and project details, including work reports and invoices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, communicate with sales and marketing, and monitor the customer database for engine service opportunities.
- Manage all aspects of assigned engine projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency from pre-planning to delivery, coordinating with customers, OEMs, contractors, and vendors.
- Assist with parts inventory management, tooling calibration, and support vehicle maintenance.
- Be available to provide ongoing service and act as a point of contact for customers outside scheduled hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Fully licensed FAA A&P certificate.
- Minimum four years of corporate aviation maintenance experience focusing on engine/airframe maintenance.
- Previous lead technician or AOG maintenance experience in a corporate flight department, business jet service provider, MRO, or OEM.
Job Specific Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Own basic tools; Duncan Aviation provides specific tool lists.
- Regular attendance, overnight and short-notice travel required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs., and work in confined spaces, heights, extreme temperatures, and noisy environments.
