Job summary

TTI Power Equipment in Anderson, SC is hiring Repair Technicians I-III to support the Recon/Refurbish Department. You will repair and service customer tools and products using hand tools and small power tools, following prescribed procedures and quality standards.

Duties include reading repair orders, diagnosing issues, performing complete function tests, documenting work and parts used, and assisting in other cell tasks such as material handling and shipping/receiving.

Qualifications

  • Prefer education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • High attention to detail and basic writing skills.
  • One to two years of electrical and/or mechanical repair experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all necessary repairs and read repair orders and schematics.
  • Diagnose tools and perform complete function tests to verify repair.
  • Document repairs, parts used, and data for billing/warranty.
  • Operate safely; assist in material handling and other cell tasks.
  • May perform shipping/receiving duties and report irregularities.

Job description

Job Description: TTI Power Equipment has openings in its Anderson, SC location for Repair Technicians I, II, and III that will support the Recon/Refurbish Department. Repair and Recon

The Repair Technician will perform repair and/or service work for Company products in accordance with prescribed procedures. The job requires using a variety of hand tools and small power tools to take apart and repair the customer’s tools/products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all the necessary repairs.
  • Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.
  • Diagnose the tool by performing a complete function test.
  • Perform a complete function test to confirm the tool is repaired properly.
  • Complete the information on the repair order form.
  • Work involves the disassembly of units, diagnosis of operating difficulty, location, and Replace worn or defective parts within time in accordance with work instructions.
  • Assist in other areas of the cell as needed such as material handling, 5’s projects, stock shelves, packing items to ship to QE, etc.
  • Make decisions as to the feasibility of repairs.
  • Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty information.
  • Recognize and report operational irregularities and defective materials.
  • Set up and perform electrical and mechanical tests to ensure the product's repair and/or work. performed is in conformance with prescribed quality standards.
  • Work from parts sheets, specifications, and drawings.
  • Perform prescribed inspections.
  • Technicians may also be asked to complete shipping and receiving duties.
  • Under the supervision of the Lead Technician make recommendations as to warranty liability and any unusual repair problems.
  • Work is subject to in-process and final inspection.
  • Responsible for quality of work, safety, and housekeeping in assigned areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Prefer an education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have mechanical skills and diagnostic skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Basic computer and writing skills.
  • One to two years of previous experience in electrical and/or mechanical repair.
Physical Demands
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive motion.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50lbs – team lifts over 50lbs.
  • Able to work in various temperature conditions.

Internal Qualifications
  • No final warnings
