Job description

SCHEDULE: Dayshift 6:00am - 2:30pm

PURPOSE:

To provide assistance to operators and other more skilled personnel in the Rapid Prototype Department, including delivery, staging, moving and storing materials, operating and cleaning equipment; learning the basic operations of the department. Assists with complex operations, stages materials and parts, completes duties of multiple steps, may work from technique cards (or other work instructions) and works without close supervision once duties are learned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

Safety
  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
  • Wears all appropriate PPE.
  • Safely operates all equipment and tools.
  • Identifies and reports safety problems.
  • Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety and health evaluations and programs.
SLA Machine Operations

Objective: To keep SLA machines running in an efficient manner.

  • Reads and interprets build map.
  • Loads file from SLA share drive to SLA machines per build map.
  • Duplicates and/or suppress portions of build per build map.
  • Transfer build information from SLA machines to build log.
  • Communicates machine issues to supervisor/leads.
  • Performs wet work on SLA patterns and gates.
  • Runs centrifuge and PCA.
  • Performs routine cleanup daily and other cleanup as assigned.
  • Prepares parts for shipping to customers as assigned.
SLA Grinding and Prep
  • Performs finish work on SLA gates and simple patterns manually and using powered hand tools.
  • Performs leak check on SLA patterns and gates.
  • Prepares parts for assembly- masking, clear coating, and applying finish wax to part.
  • Provides assistance to department and learns operations as assigned in order to contribute to department productivity.
Other Duties
  • Delivers, stages, moves and stores materials, equipment and parts.
  • Fills, loads and unloads materials and equipment.
  • Gathers materials and equipment for use by other personnel at specified times or as needed.
  • Learns and performs basic department operations, including equipment and process operations; may work from technique cards (or other work instructions).
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Required overtime.
  • Performs other tasks as directed.
TRAINING:
  • Training is provided on the job.
  • PCC’s Forklift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed as assigned.
  • Hazardous Materials handling training as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One plus year experience in assembly, grinding, dimensional abilities, SLA, and molding in aerospace, automotive, and plastic industries (preferred.)
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, follow and interpret written instructions on technique cards, code sheets or other written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
  • May be required to complete hazardous material handling and confined space training.
