Job summary

Dechert LLP seeks an AI Engineer to partner with attorneys and business-services teams, translating complex legal needs into scalable AI-driven solutions. You will design proof-of-concept and pilot projects, then move successful plans to production within enterprise IT standards.

The role emphasizes secure, compliant AI design, integration across firm systems, and ongoing governance, risk management, and performance monitoring in a legal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, AI, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering, application development, automation, systems integration, data engineering, or related roles.
• Minimum of 2 years designing, developing, or deploying AI-enabled or automation solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with attorneys, practice groups, and business services teams to understand workflows and outcomes.
• Design and develop proof-of-concept and pilot AI solutions using approved platforms and low-code tools.
• Build secure AI-enabled applications including generative AI assistants and RAG solutions.
• Develop integrations among firm applications, knowledge systems, and data platforms.
• Ensure AI solutions meet data governance, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor performance, adoption, and governance of deployed AI solutions.
