Job summary

Benesch Law in Chicago seeks a Rankings & Directories Specialist to manage submissions for legal directories and awards. You will coordinate content from attorneys, draft compelling narratives and biographies, and ensure timely, accurate submissions across multiple directories.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in marketing or professional services, with excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills. Hybrid work and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, public relations or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or business development in a professional services environment.
• Experience supporting legal rankings, directories, awards or surveys is strongly preferred.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills are essential.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submissions for legal directories and rankings (Chambers, The Legal 500, etc.).
• Maintain master calendars and track deadlines for submissions.
• Draft and edit submission content: narratives, matter summaries, bios and firm descriptions.
• Collect information from attorneys and practice groups to create persuasive submissions.
• Coordinate referees and client approvals per firm protocols.
• Maintain templates, materials and trackers for rankings programs.
• Share updates on guidelines and best practices with stakeholders.
