Job summary

Altus Technology Solutions LLC is seeking a Range Safety Inspector to support MAFR range operations. You will enforce safety protocols, verify authorized activities, and coordinate with Range Control leadership to ensure mission success and compliant training.

Strong knowledge of weapons safety and military range ops is required. The RSI duties include pre- and post-event inspections, on-site presence, overtime support, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site RSI from 30 minutes before range opening to range closing per normal operations hours.
• Support occasional overtime, after-hours operations (AOH), and no-notice emergency requirements.
• Submit a monthly RSI duty schedule to the COR at least 10 business days prior to the start of the month.
• Act as an adjunct to the Range Officer (RO), ensuring mission success under RO direction.
• Verify that all range activities are conducted by authorized personnel/organizations.
• Enforce compliance with all safety instructions, including weapons/ammunition inspections, troop certifications, and training event parameters.
• Oversee safe integration of air and ground training within MAFR restricted areas and boundaries.
• Inspect MOUT and other training sites to ensure they meet Range Management Office (RMO) standards and expectations for training purposes.
• Serve as liaison between range users and Range Control leadership for operational issues, maintenance integration, and range tours.
• Document and manage turnover of training areas and ranges, including pre- and post-event inspections.
• Provide safety expertise on direct-fire munitions, bombs, small arms, launchers, anti-tank weapons, mortars, mines, and air-to-ground gunnery.
• Assist in emergency situations by directing response vehicles, escorting agencies, or performing other duties as needed.
• Operate government-provided vehicle for RSI duties.
