Job summary

The Department of Military Affairs is seeking a Range Operations Specialist in Florida to manage live-fire activities, air drops, and close-air-support operations while coordinating across Army regiments and civilian agencies.

Responsibilities include mapping, safety regulation compliance, and range scheduling. Requires a High School Diploma and 3 years of range operations experience; National Agency Check clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AND three (3) years of professional administrative experience in range operations or related field.
• Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Range Operations Specialist performing duties in a Range Operations facility with live-fire activities, air drops and CAS operations.
• Coordinates and schedules activities across multiple units to avoid conflicts in training.
• Develops and updates SRP Military Installation Map (MIM) and SRP installation mapping requests.
• Develops training maps to SRP standards and assists with graphic fire desk data.
• Operates Range Control nets and ensures safety zones are plotted per data on map boards.
• Maintains records of weapons fired and personnel trained on the ranges.
