Job summary

D. R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Ranch Hand and Mechanic to maintain and repair ATVs, trucks, trailers, and ranch equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance, responding to mechanical issues, and supporting ranch operations and buildings across multiple ranch properties.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related experience, including operating ranch vehicles and power tools. Flexible scheduling and seasonal duties are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of experience in mechanical repair, ranch operations, agricultural equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related field.
• Ability to safely operate ranch vehicles, equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ranch water, irrigation, feeding, and related systems for livestock and ranch operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of ranch vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for mechanical problems and safety concerns; perform routine service and keep maintenance records.
• Maintain ranch buildings, fencing, roads, and water systems; perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds maintenance.
• Support livestock operations and assist with cattle gathering and calf-sale activities.
