H2ajobs is seeking a Ranch Hand to assist with feeding, housing, and general care of animals on our Iowa ranch. Responsibilities include operating trucks and tractors to distribute feed, bedding, and to keep pens clean, especially in winter, while ensuring water access and animal health.

This role may require weekend or holiday work and offers housing and meals. Transportation for grocery trips or other needs is provided as appropriate.

Duties may include: Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment ensure access to distribute timely feed animals. During the cold months worker will distribute bedding for animals, and clear pens of snow, wet bedding, and manure to ensure healthy conditions for animals. Inspect and clear waterers for animals to drink from and ensure no ice obstructing access. Examine animals to detect illness, and other physical characteristics that may impact the overall health of the animal during harsh winter months. Possible weekend/holiday work. Maintain equipment and cleanliness to continue operations during freezing conditions. Respect all property equipment & other related Ranch Hand activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Depending on housing location, worker may have a kitchen available for use. In that case, The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food. Otherwise, 3 meals per day will be provided to those workers who do not have access to free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities (all workers who are residing in public accommodations). All meals will include a daily source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl
