Bar Cross Ranch in Wyoming seeks a Ranch Facilities Assistant to support maintenance of buildings, fences, irrigation, and equipment. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, safety, and collaboration with the ranch team to keep facilities in top condition.

The successful candidate will perform electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks, work with various contractors, and assist with ranch operations and events as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years maintaining electrical and plumbing components.

• Physically capable of demanding outdoor work.

Bar Cross Ranch – Family‑owned, historical working ranch located in the Upper Green River Valley of Sublette County, Wyoming near Cora and Pinedale, Wyoming.

As an integral member of the ranch team, the Ranch Facilities and Equipment Assistant at Bar Cross Ranch supports key elements of the ranch, from structure and buildings to non‑ag vehicles and equipment maintenance (service/preventative).

Responsibilities:

SAFETY - COMMUNICATION - LEARNING - SERVING - STEWARDSHIP – EFFICIENCY

• Safety - Equipment, Team Members, Livestock, and Surroundings
• Consistent, Daily, Above and Beyond Communication and Record Management with supervisor in coordination with the Ranch Manager, Operations Team, and Owner on all aspects of the Ranch
• Attend, study, and train on areas of responsibility as directed to improve knowledge and share ranch operation best practices continuously
• Assist and serve the ranch team, owner, guests and community
• Repair and Maintenance of Ranch facilities; including buildings, fences, corals, irrigation infrastructure, assigned equipment, and housing/landscaping
• Non‑agriculture equipment and vehicle maintenance maintained in a safe and clean operating manner
• Stewardship, of the land and animals on it
• Execute all duties in an efficient and effective fiscal and operational manner
• Excellent time management in group and independent tasks

Duties of Position:

• Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, vehicle, mechanical, landscape, supply and general facility management, cleaning, repair and maintenance
• Interact with various contractors and specialists
• Assist with ranch operations as needed
• Assist with recreational events as needed
• Monitor pest control, maintaining regularly scheduled preventative measures

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment
• Basic knowledge of landscape irrigation systems
• Basic understanding of AC and DC electrical
• Ability and Desire to learn and contribute to training, including new technology
• Computer, mobile device, and equipment technology experience
• 3 - 5 Years of experience maintaining and repairing electrical, plumbing, domestic and agricultural mechanical components, vehicles, irrigation equipment and landscape
• Available on-site on a regular schedule and during special flex periods to include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Requires physically demanding activities including, hiking, lifting, climbing, and carrying heavy equipment up to 100 pounds while working in extreme weather conditions and remote areas
• Driver’s License and reliable transportation to working location
