Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking workers to manage cattle care duties during winter conditions. The role includes breaking ice in troughs, providing bedding, feeding, and maintaining facilities to keep livestock healthy and safe.

Responsibilities cover inspecting animals, administering meds as needed, and ensuring access to barns and fences are secure. CDL may be obtained after hire, but is not required initially.

Qualifications

• Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the listed duties.
• Must be able to obtain an appropriate driver’s license after hire and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Random drug testing may be required at no cost to the worker; positive test or noncompliance may lead to termination.

Responsibilities

• Break ice in water troughs so cattle can drink.
• Operate tank heaters and provide hay as bedding.
• Replace bedding to avoid contamination and disease.
• Protect cattle from winter elements; remove snow and ice from facilities.
• Inspect livestock for sickness and administer medications as needed.
• Feed cattle during grass dormancy and maintain equipment, buildings, pens, yards, and fences.
• CDL not required for the job, but some workers may already possess or obtain one after hire.
