Hitachi Rail USA, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an enthusiastic Intern – RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) for Summer 2027. This paid internship offers exposure to Safety Engineering and hands-on RAMS activities within a global leader in rail signaling solutions.

You will support RAMS and V&V tasks, learn through real-world projects, and participate in mentorship and intern events while gaining insight into system safety across transport technologies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an engineering student at a 4-year university with expected graduation between Dec 2027 and Dec 2028.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities relevant to RAMS disciplines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure RAMS and V&V activities are planned, scheduled, and monitored.
• Assist RAMS team with workload management and staffing requests.
• Align RAMS schedule with the project master schedule to avoid delays.
• Proactively identify risks and propose recovery plans for RAMS activities.
• Assist with RAMS documentation delivery for the project.
• Support schedule and cost constraints related to RAMS engineering.
