Job summary

Pegasus Aviation Services, an Akima company, is seeking a Ramp Service Agent to marshal aircraft on the ramp, load and unload baggage, and perform de-icing and other requested services.

This on-site role requires the ability to work in all weather, lift up to 60 pounds, and pass a background check; good communication and a strong teamwork mindset are essential.

You will operate ground service equipment and coordinate with crew and supervisors to keep aircraft moving safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds comfortably.
• Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and a team player.
• Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre-employment drug test.
• Preferred qualifications: Prior Ramp Service experience; De-icing service experience; Forklift operation experience.

Ramp Service Agents (RSA) at Pegasus Aviation Services are crucial to our operations, responsible for marshalling aircraft at the gate, loading, unloading, and sorting freight and baggage. They also service aircraft lavatories, provide potable water, push back aircraft from the gate, deice aircraft, and perform other delegated duties. RSAs follow established procedures and generally work under the supervision of Customer Service Reps, Supervisors, or Ramp Managers.

Physical Demands

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

Work Environment

• Routinely work outside and are exposed to all types of weather conditions.
• The noise level is usually moderate but can vary depending on location and time of day.
• Use of provided hearing protection or acceptable alternatives is required.
