Job summary

SkyChefs in Dallas, TX is seeking a Safety and Ramp Operations Lead to drive the Employee Safety program across ramp activities. You will enforce OSHA-compliant practices, oversee safety SOPs, and partner with site leadership to protect staff and ensure reliable, on-time service for airline partners.

The role requires 1–3 years ramp safety experience, strong analytical and people leadership skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • One to three years of ramp experience in operations and safety required.
  • Proven analytical and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve budget.
  • Understanding and applicability of governmental regulations such as OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA regulations, as well as applicable state agencies.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required combines with an aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise ramp and employee safety initiatives.
  • Partner with CSC Leadership regarding employee safety issues (OSHA, FAA, EPA, DOT and state agencies).
  • Coordinate ramp/employee safety initiatives and measurement systems.
  • Regularly trains employees on all Employee Safety and Ramp Safety SOPs.
  • Supervise daily area / department activities in the CSC.
  • Conduct monthly Safety meetings.
  • Coordinate and ensure accident investigations with corrective/preventive actions.
  • Partner with CSC Leadership to ensure Audit Readiness.
  • Ensure area is organized, staffed and directed.
  • Guide, motivate and develop subordinate employees per HR policy.
  • Participate in GPS process and career development activities to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Make company values and management principles live in the department.
  • Support initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and CBase.

Role Purpose Statement

In this role, you will lead the charge in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our ramp operations. You'll oversee every aspect of our employee safety programs and ramp procedures, playing a vital role in creating a secure, seamless environment for our team and our airline partners.

Main Accountabilities
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with Company ramp and employee safety initiatives.
  • Partners with CSC Leadership regarding employee safety issues. involving but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Federal Aviation Agency (FAA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT); and applicable state agencies.
  • Coordinate ramp/employee safety initiatives and appropriate. measurement systems as set by company and customer.
  • Regularly trains employees on all Employee Safety and Ramp Safety SOPs.
  • Supervise daily area / department activities in the CSC.
  • Conduct monthly Safety meetings.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all Accidents are investigated and corrective/preventive action is implemented and sustained.
  • Partners with CSC Leadership to ensure Audit Readiness.
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed.
  • Guide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the Human Resources Policy.
  • Participates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s).
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and CBase.
