Position Overview
As a Ramp Agent you will work as part of a team delivering safe and efficient aircraft services while providing the highest level of customer service, keeping passengers and aircraft moving safely and on time.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Properly and safely load and unload freight, including build up and break down of cargo pallets and freight containers following guidelines.
- Hold equipment certifications and operate equipment safely.
- Obtain proper security documents for all shipments.
- Verify upon receipt from customer shipment pieces, weight, dimensions and airworthiness.
- Verify upon delivery to customer shipment pieces and airway bill numbers.
Required Skills And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Maintain and treat all information as confidential.
- Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
- Must be able to verbally direct in English.
- Successful completion of the SIDA airport badging or background check process required for this location.
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Work Environment
- Warehouse – physically strenuous, prolonged periods standing with exposure to noise, safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment.
- Outdoor – prolonged periods standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to speak and hear efficiently.
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds at times.
- Ability to climb ladders of up to 15 feet in height.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
