Job summary

Piedmont Airlines, Inc. is seeking a Ramp Agent in Boston to support baggage handling and aircraft servicing in a fast-paced outdoor airport environment.

The role requires physical work and teamwork to meet company goals and customer expectations. The successful candidate will complete Ramp Agent training and perform duties including loading/unloading baggage, operating equipment, guiding aircraft, and assisting with cabin maintenance while delivering excellent service.

To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as a Ramp Agent in our Ground Handling Department. The primary responsibility of the position is baggage handling and servicing aircraft in a fast-paced outdoor airport environment. Ramp Agents are expected to keep both the company goals and customer expectations in mind when completing their daily tasks. The successful candidate will successfully complete the Ramp Agent training course. This position will report to the General Manager.Essential Duties:Responsible for below-the-wing servicing of the aircraftLoad and unload baggage and cargoOperate motorized service vehicles and equipmentGuide and park aircraftPerform cabin maintenance tasksDe-ice aircraftWork as a team to provide excellent customer service and meet corporate objectivesJob Qualifications and Competencies:Successful completion of training courseAbility to meet company goals and customer expectations in a high energy environmentEffective communication skillsAbility to organize, prioritize, and multitaskPreferred Qualifications:Previous airline experiencePrevious employment as a front-line customer service providerBasic knowledge of computer applications and programsWork Environment:Use of computers, telephones, and other office equipmentAirport ramp environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levelsAll shifts including weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shiftsPhysical Requirements:Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, climbing up and down stairsHandle objects up to 70 poundsAssist passengers with disabilities, including, but not limited to, pushing wheelchairsThe above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and are not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required for this position.
