What You'll Do

Unloading and loading luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft, in the outbound bag room and baggage claim area. Driving and operating small specialized commercial vehicles. The position requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, and frequent kneeling.

Primary Accountabilities And Duties

• Lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, terminals, and cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching, push/pull, stacking, and kneeling in confined spaces.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft loading instructions, hazard labels, manifests, and routing tags.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in all operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Availability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Pass drug testing.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
• Prior ramp experience is preferable.

Working Conditions

The work environment includes outdoor weather, proximity to moving mechanical parts, high voltages, loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous substances. Occasionally, work at heights or in precarious places is required.

Physical Requirements

Requires standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing, and talking. Tasks include lifting up to 70 lbs., bending, and shoveling snow or debris. Frequent lifting/moving up to 25 lbs., and occasional lifting up to 70 lbs.
