Role Overview

Ramp Agents work outdoors to direct planes, handle cargo and baggage, and ensure smooth ground operations. They must be problem-solvers, work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with Ground Operations Teams to meet flight schedules. Learn more at: swa.is/DayOnTheRamp

  • This role is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement, with shifts based on seniority, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly service and maintain positive relationships with Customers and Co-workers.
  • Service aircraft by loading/unloading baggage, cargo, and mail; record and handle cargo; safeguard items from weather, theft, or damage.
  • Operate equipment such as belt loaders and pushback tugs.
  • Perform aircraft interior cleaning, stock aircraft supplies, and transport equipment.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Complete paperwork and follow procedures accurately.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work well in a team and under stress.
  • Must complete Ramp Agent training with at least 90% average.
  • Ability to read instructions, understand procedures, and handle emergencies.
  • Meet grooming standards and be alert to safety hazards.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain airport badges.
  • Physical ability to lift 70+ pounds, climb, bend, and work in cramped or high places.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S., at least 18 years old.
  • Availability for shift work, overtime, and adherence to attendance standards.
Compensation & Other Info

Rate: $20.03/hour. No specific employment duration guaranteed. 401(k) and ProfitSharing contributions subject to vesting schedules.
