Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is seeking a Part-Time Ramp Agent in Peoria, IL to support safe aircraft services. You will join a team loading/unloading freight and ensuring cargo and aircraft move efficiently while adhering to security guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic English, and the ability to operate equipment safely. A SIDA/background check and valid ID or passport may be required for access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
• SIDA airport badge or background check may be required for access.
• A Real ID or valid Passport is required for this location.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely loads and unloads freight, including pallet and container handling.
• Operates equipment safely and maintains certifications as required.
• Obtains security documents for shipments and verifies air waybills.
• Verifies shipment pieces, weight, dimensions, and airworthiness on receipt and delivery.

Including build up and break down of cargo pallets and freight containers following guidelines;• Holds equipment certifications and operates equipment safely;• Obtains proper security documents for all shipments;• Verifies upon receipt from customer shipment pieces, weight, dimensions and airworthiness;• Verifies upon delivery to customer shipment pieces and airway bill numbers;Required Skills and Experience:• High school diploma or equivalent preferred;• Maintain and treat all information as confidential;• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English;• Must be able to verbally direct in English;•Successful completion of the SIDA airport badging or background check process required for this location;• A Real ID or valid Passport is required for this position.Work Environment:• Warehouse - physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment;• Outdoor - prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.Physical Demands:• Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms;• Must be able to speak and hear efficiently;• Able to lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds at times;• Ability to climb ladders of up to 15 feet in height;• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.The Inland Group of Companies offers a variety of opportunities to work in the field of aviation.
