Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a full-time Ramp Agent to join our team at CHS. You will help ensure flights run on time by handling baggage and cargo, moving items on and off aircraft, and guiding aircraft to gates.

Responsibilities include lifting up to 70 lbs, operating equipment, and following safety and security procedures. The role requires outdoor work and compliance with badges and drug testing policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have high school diploma, GED, or six months ramp agent experience.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test.
• Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs. continually.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Valid driver's license with clean record over past 5 years.
• Available and flexible for variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Work is outdoors; able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must obtain and maintain Airports/Customs badges/seals.

Responsibilities

• Move baggage and cargo to and from aircraft and equipment.
• Read and interpret weight/balance loading instructions and routing tags.
• Assist in moving cargo between aircraft and air cargo facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Purpose

Menzies Aviation is seeking a full-time diligent Ramp Agent to join our Team. The Ramp Agent plays an important role in ensuring that flights run on time by maintaining detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates.

What you will be doing

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling insmall, confinedlocations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have high school diploma, GED or six months prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Capable of safelylifting upto 70 lbs. continuously.
• Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Work is done primarily outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.
