Job summary

Menzies Aviation LATAM in the United States is seeking a full-time Ramp Agent to help flights run on time by loading baggage and cargo, moving items between aircraft and terminals, and recording loading details.

You must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED (or six months ramp experience), pass pre-employment drug testing, lift up to 70 lbs, speak/read/write English, hold a valid driver\'s license, and be willing to work variable shifts outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have high school diploma, GED or six months prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously.
• Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations in past 5 years.
• Must be available for variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Work is outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must obtain and maintain Airports/Custom badges/seals.
• Prior ramp experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft.
• Frequent bending, stretching, push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small spaces.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret loading instructions, material labels, manifests, and routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Role Purpose

Menzies Aviation is seeking a full-time diligent Ramp Agent to join our Team. The Ramp Agent plays an important role in ensuring that flights run on time by maintaining detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates.
What You Will Be Doing

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
