Job summary

Railserve, part of Marmon Holdings, is hiring dependable Track Laborers in Decatur, IL to support track construction and maintenance. This hands-on, outdoor role requires teamwork and strict safety adherence to keep rail infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.

The position is full-time with a starting wage of $22.50 per hour (based on experience) and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Accommodation to work outdoors in all weather conditions is necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy materials and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work on uneven terrain.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive spikes and assist with track installation and maintenance.
• Move and set cross ties and sections of rail.
• Shovel ballast and support track alignment.
• Adjust and lubricate switches.
• Tighten track bolts and hardware.
• Check track gauge and cross level.
• Carry and use track tools and equipment (including track jack ~40 lbs).
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
