Job summary

BNSF Railway Engineering Department in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a full-time Estimator to develop formal cost estimates for track and construction projects using CEPS. The role involves coordinating with Project Engineers and other personnel, and preparing billing estimates for outside parties.

Travel up to 25% is required; relocation may be offered. Candidates should have experience with CEPS and SAP, strong attention to detail, and solid analytical and communications skills.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail, solid analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Highly effective interpersonal and communications skills consistent with the BNSF Leadership Model are required.
• CEPS and SAP computer applications knowledge desirable

Responsibilities

• Develop formal cost estimates based upon preliminary engineering analysis of routine and relatively complex track and construction projects utilizing the Corporate Estimating and Planning System (CEPS)
• Prepare Estimates for billing outside parties / agencies in coordination with Project Engineers or other BNSF personnel
• Provide information for cash flow and budgetary purposes
• Maintain constant contact with all levels in Field Engineering, Engineering Construction, Maintenance Planning, Industrial Development, Public Improvements, and Finance and Accounting to coordinate the collection of information to build accurate project costs based on current estimating standards
• Relocation assistance may be offered based on business needs
