Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Oakland, CA seeks a Senior Design Engineer Railway Integration Designer (Electrical or Signaling) to lead installation design in a fast-paced rail environment. You will coordinate cable routing, interfaces, and field requirements for brownfield and new track projects.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in railway engineering, strong CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, Bluebeam), and solid English communication. The role is based on-site in Oakland with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years' experience in Railway Engineering design, especially installation design.
• Experience with brownfield rail contexts is a plus.
• Strong CAD workflows knowledge and regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Integrate CBTC systems and produce install design details compliant with contract and local regulations.
• Guide subcontractor designers to route cables in technical rooms and along track systems.
• Manage interfaces between engineering installation works and subsystems.
• Serve as liaison between site personnel and the engineering team.
• Identify critical issues and propose mitigation actions.
• Represent the Installation team and support design choices with the client.
• Use Bluebeam and CAD for interface definition and project delivery planning.
