Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Experience in railroad or heavy construction is a plus but not required.
• Ability to travel to multiple job sites, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Carry and place track materials using standard railroad maintenance tools.
• Install railroad tracks and embankments, including road crossings and rail lubricator.
• Perform track maintenance and construction tasks such as changing rails and ties, and adjusting switches.
• Operate pounding and lifting tools for extended periods.
• Operate hydraulic and air-powered railroad tools.
• Respond to after-hours calls for derailment repairs as needed.
• Assist in re-railing train cars.
• Comply with safety rules and report hazards.
